Have you ever had the experience of creating a lesson plan that you think is great and the kids will love it, and then it just doesn't work? What do you do? Do you keep going and teach the lesson even when you know it’s not working? If you stop the lesson then what? What do you do with the kids for the rest of the period. Has an experience like this stifled your creativity because you don’t want to risk another “bad” lesson?

As teachers we have all been there. There are times when what you have planned just doesn’t work. Simone Padur, APS teacher, is brilliant in her ability to deal with these unforeseen circumstances that can just throw off your day. She will share real life experiences from her classroom and will talk about how she turned the situations around. Not only did she turn the situations around, but so much greater came from what could have been disasters. Simone is a kind and caring teacher with a lightness and openness that kids love that also provide an atmosphere of growth and learning.
