Ancient conjurations are spoken over each ingredient of a recipe to enliven the inherent energies of each herb, and it is believed that those who partake of the meal will benefit from the intention of the "mago de herbe" (herbal magician) who prepared it.

We will trace the history of Stregeria from the earliest records, and I will share a few authentic recipes (and secrets of preparation) that were passed to me first hand by a good friend's grandmother in the 1980's.

Of course, there will be a related folk tale about  a day in the life of a 15th century mago de herbe, and how and why she was hired by one of the most powerful nobles in Genoa.

A perfect pre-Thanksgiving broadcast!
