I’ve been involved with music and entertainment on a professional level since 1969 when I made my first Single in Paris at Pathé Marconi. I stayed in France for about two years after the recording where I worked writing what they called Ghost Songs. During this time I worked with several record companies and various writers. The early 70’s I returned to the UK and started to get into Bands and also played in a duo doing the Folk circuit. During this time I met a lot of musicians that would later go on to do great things, for example Al Stewart, John Martyn, Jasper Carrot and many more. I studied music in London and was lucky to get into a place where they did composition for a course. It was four years well spent and was a very valuable formation. It showed me how to arrange and also taught me the limitations and problems all musicians have. Around 75 I joined my first Pro Band when I was invited to join a hippy group called Starry Eyed and Laughing. Although I wasn’t very happy in this outfit I did my first real touring and very first BBC radio sessions and got into the studio more than ever. After a couple of years the group broke up and frustrated I went to Canada. This was 77 and I went to Canada because they wouldn’t let me into the USA. I formed a punk Band called Arthurs Dilemma and over the next 7 months we totally ruled Montreal. During this time I met a sponsor who took me to New York where I did the same thing but with fresh musicians. We had a lot of success. My premier was packed full of beautiful people. For example John and Yoko were there along with Andy Warhol and we are going to hear the rest of the story LIVE from ARTHUR today and hear some of hgis wonderful music. Do join us!
