All the members of Ascension Day will be joining Dawn to discuss the release of their first album, 'So Alive'. "A strange alchemy results when you throw a classically trained pianist, a tattooed hipster, and an affable throwback together in a band. One would suspect that their different backgrounds would be the band's undoing. In the case of Ascension Day, however, the multiple influences and perspectives brought to the table by the trio have melded into a sound that is entirely their own. Edward Lee and D. Campbell had played together often in college and the years since. The two formed Ascension Day as a quintet in 2007 with Adam Lorton assuming the role of bassist in 2008. Personnel changes led to the band becoming a power trio in 2010 with Edward taking over bass duties while Adam switched to his primary instrument, guitar. It was clear almost immediately that the trio format played to each member's strengths. "So Alive" is the result and Ascension Day's first album. For best results, this album should be played at maximum volume."
