You buy your property.  You think you're the owner of it.  You put a house on it, worth $300,000.  You think you own the land, and the house it sits on.  Would it surprise you to know that, if you pay off the entire cost, and default on the county assessed taxes, it can be stolen from you just for the amount of the taxes you owe, and sold to someone else for that same amount?  That tells me that the county owns your home, not you.  People are losing their homes and property everyday, and no one gets it.  I don't get how you can't get it.  YOU DON'T OWN DIDDLY SQUAT.  Nothing you have that is registered by "The State" belongs to you...your house, your car...not even your own children!
