Many preppers are stockpiling pet meds, bulk over the counter medications, and asking their doctors for an extra refill or two on their normal prescriptions. Some are also stocking up on herbal remedies and essential oils. More medical, first aid, and herbal books are being written with preppers in mind, which is an encouraging trend. Still, several conditions present such difficulty that many preppers accept defeat, in this herbalist's opinion, prematurely. Diabetes is one such condition.There are, however, herbal and nutritional options that can make surviving a collapse or calamity with diabetes a whole lot easier, and open up the door to surviving with type 1 diabetes. There are solid studies showing the efficacy of herbs long-known in both Traditional Western Herbalism and Ayurvedic Herbalism which have blood-glucose lowering abilities. This is not to suggest that herbs will magically make diabetes go away, or to imply that you can simply swap an herb out for a pharmaceutical. Be sure to tune in to this important episode.
