Join me and my co-host for another exciting show as we celebrate Father's Day with the men.   My special guest will be Jesse Belvin Jr. who will be celebrating the legacy of his father American R&B singer, pianist and songwriter the late Jesse Belvin. 

Before there was Elvis, Sam Cooke and Jackie Wilson there was Jesse Belvin.  Jesse Belvin aka " Mr. Easy" was known for his smooth balladaire voice which became a model for Sam Cooke.  Jesse wrote" Earth Angel "one of the first R&B singles to cross over onto the pop charts, selling a million copies in 1954/55. His biggest hit  "Goodnight My Love" reached  number #7 on the R&B chart and became the closing theme to Alan Freed's rock and roll radio show. 

Jesse influence in music and social justice was far reaching when his recorded company began to notice the tremendous impact he had on white audiences and began molding him as a crossover artist for white audiences.

  His son, Jessie Belvin Jr. will be talking about his father's career, music and the important contributions that he made to civil rights, and his final performance in Little Rock Arkansas in which shortly afterwards a fatal  head on collision car accident claim the life of him and his wife.  This is a story that you don't want to miss so Keep it Locked to the Alysha Live!
