Tonight on Alchemist Radio, hosts Mitch Ciccarelli and Bryan Levick will speak to the brand new World Series of Fighting bantamweight champion Marlon Moraes, TUF 19 competitor and fellow Long Islander, Eddie “Truck” Gordon and 2013 coach of the year, Duane Ludwig.

Saturday night in Las Vegas, Moraes chopped down Josh Rettinghouse with some nasty leg kicks and put together some nice combinations to become the first WSOF bantamweight champion. Moraes has now won seven fights in a row and is 5-1 in the WSOF. At 25-years-old the future looks extremely bright for Moares.

Gordon trains alongside UFC fighters Al Iaquinta, Gian Villante and UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman at the Serra/Longo gym. Gordon possesses a 6-1 record and has fought primarily for the New Jersey based Ring of Combat promotion. You can see Gordon alongside all of the other UFC hopefuls beginning April 16. The coaches are former UFC lightweight and welterweight champion BJ Penn and the man who won the lightweight title from him, Frankie Edgar.

Ludwig was named 2013 Coach of the Year at the World MMA Awards because of his great work with the fighters at Team Alpha Male. Fighters such as TJ Dillashaw, Urijah Faber, Joseph Benavidez, Chad Mendes, Danny Castillo and TUF 18 winner, Chris Holdsworth have all sung Ludwig’s praises and credited him for helping them achieve great things since he took over the team. Ludwig helped  lead both Faber and Benavidez to title fights, but both were unsuccessful in their attempts. He recently announced he’d be stepping down as their head coach so he could move his family back to Colorado where he would start his own gym.
