Thank you Ted Kennedy for helping poor students get Pell Grants to go to college... Thank you Senator Kennedy for first calling for a national health care system in 1966, when you proposed an amendment to the Economic Opportunity Act... Thank you Senator Kennedy, for sponsoring the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in 1996. Thank You Senator for rallying the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) under which uninsured children from low-income families could get insurance... Thank you Senator Kennedy for sponsoring the Family Opportunity Act of 2006, allowing states to expand Medicaid coverage to children with special needs. Thank you Senator for your impassioned speech pleading with members of the Senate to end the filibuster of the Civil Rights Bill back in the 60's... Thank You Senator for your support in 1970, of the Voting Rights Act Extension, which essentially lowered the voting age to 18. And hat tip Senator for your efforts to gain funding for HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment programs and, most recently, your support for expanding hate crimes to include sexual orientation. you have acted more like a soul brother, than many of the Congressional Black Caucus. Good Job Senator, Good job... now the question is, can the President Obama who you supported, start talking and thinking about poor people? What do you think?
