Conciliation: The New Normal

The Neighborhood Justice Center interaction with the court systems has resulted in an improvement and streamlining of landlord/tenant disputes being conciliated with minimal court intervention. The cases often result in a cessation in legal action from the beginning. This new normal, of having options available for landlords and tenants in a location easily accessible and with the necessary staffing, has reduced the time commitments of the court.

This session will share the influence of customer service, mediation skills and community peace keeping that brings resolve to emotionally charges disputes.  Personal experience from the mediator and statistical analysis tells the story.
