Where Is God, When I Hurt?

Where is God when I hurt? Where is God when I am sick? Where is God when I am destitute or at the end of my rope? When I lose my job, where is God?

To often Christians and non-Christians alike question whether or not God will answer their prayers, and if He answers, when? Do we believe that God is there when we need Him most or do we believe that He doesn't always hear us? In Scripture even the strongest and most faithful to God has questioned whether or not God will answer their prayers.
