Tarsha’ “PENNIE” Hamilton is a woman who wears many hats. PENNIE Hamilton is a singer/songwriter born and raised in Cleveland, OH. The church is where her roots lie and it rings loud through her music. She released her first inspirational album, “The McMillian Story” independently in 2008 and has ministered her songs as far as Japan and South Africa. While working on her sophomore album PENNIE experienced the devastating loss of her brother Michael to AIDS. It wasn’t the first family member she’d lost to the disease. Both mother and father succumbed to HIV/AIDS several years before. So in 2009, months after her loss, she decided to break her silence and become an activist on bringing light to the effects of HIV/AIDS in the African-American and faith-based communities, being a voice for those infected and affected by the disease. In 2010 PENNIE, along with husband Anthony of 7 years, welcomed twin boys Aaron Michael & Nolan Anthony. The birth of her sons gave her life and renewed her faith and hope that all had not been lost. PENNIE’s life experiences fed her creativity and she decided to explore her love for Rock and Roll creating her band “J’PENNELOPE”. The band graced the stage as the opening act on Anthony Hamilton’s 2011 promo tour. Summer 2012 the Hamilton’s welcomed baby boy Princeton Harris. Now a wife, mom/step-mom to a total of 6 boys, activist, inspirational and Rock n Roll artist, PENNIE’s expecting to release her new Inspirational album “Facing Fear” in June 2013 on Central South Distribution.
