JOHNNY COME LATELY

I have heard a variety of names suggested regarding potential rivals to the incumbent Mayor John Destefano . Let's be fully aware that the every two years the election for the titular leader of New Haven takes place. this coming November. we can celebrate democracy once again, Of course New Haven is a one party town and there in lies the dilemma. The election is essentially over once the Democratic town committee nominates the heir apparent in the summer. but wait, lest we forget that the current mayor ( at that point he had never held an elective office)was once anointed by the democratic town committee only to be challenged by the first black mayor of new haven John Daniels who beat John Destefano in the september primary of 1989. John Destefano did become mayor however after John Daniels decided not to run for a third term, and the rest is history! As we make history again this coming november , will it be the same old same old or a new vision?
