The first impression when meeting someone new is so important. What do we see first the face!

Today we are going to speak with our special guest, Master Esthetician Ms. Kathie Conn

What’s an Esthetician?

1. A  licensed professional trained  to repair, restore, correct  the  integumentary  system of the body, the skin.
2. They  perform services such as deep cleansing of the skin, extracting congested pores, enhance the wellness of the skin.
3. Many states require a license several do not. It’s up to the customer to proactively check.

a. In Virginia there are two categories of licensing

i. Basic or Profession Esthetician to perform services that do not go beyond the epidermis. The epidermis forms the outermost layer, providing the initial barrier to the external environment. There are no live skin cells at this layer
ii. Master Esthetician can perform services in the dermis layer of skin, the layer where the skin cells are still alive. Treatments are microdermabrasion, ultra-sonic, chemical peels. Services that will affect the function of the skin cells.
