YOUTH ACHIEVERS USA INSTITUTE (YouthUSA) promotes asset building through its capacity-building program, THE ANNUAL YOUTH ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS. Since 1996, the program has partnered with families, churches and community groups to qualify youth as “assets” instead of liabilities to their communities.  A total of 86 young Americans now qualify as beneficiaries within the YouthUSA Corporate Village.  A free online application is available to any American citizen, age 7-24.  Each application presents “a vision of the future” through the youth’s goals in seven categories.  A “Whole Village” of 20 caring adults each invest $5 to establish a $100 savings asset in a partnering bank. Join us 12 noon eastern, 11 am central, 9 am on the west coast for A WAY OUT on YouthUSA Radio www.YouthUSA.net.

Roughly two-thirds of Black and one-third of Hispanic children live with only one parent.   Moreover, research suggests that a father's absence increases the risk of his Black child dropping out of school by 75 percent.  And even in the 21st Century information age, too many Americans still live in poverty.  If you have read the report to The President of the United States, we’d like to hear your thoughts on My Brother’s Keeper.  We're looking at the symbols, practices and promises that strengthen our communities and secure our nation.  It's Flag Day 2014 on YouthUSA Radio www.YouthUSA.net.
