We are looking forward to partnering with your agency and other community members in this venture.  We are asking that you consider designating one or two individuals from your organization to represent you on the domestic violence and/or sexual assault NCR Team.  These representatives should be familiar with how Teen Dating Violence is addressed by your agency, and be kept up-to-date on current cases or problems that may exist.  This team will not discuss specific cases, however, but only the systems process that surrounds them.  Participating will ensure that your organization gains a voice in the community while providing you with a platform to remain vigilant in correcting an issue that plagues our youth.
As we present this venture to the Dallas Metro Area and its surrounding communities, we’d like to formally invite you to participate in our first Forum on Friday, July 18, 2014 6-8pm at the University of Texas Arlington – Sweet Center 406 Summit Ave. Arlington, TX 76013 to create a solid partnership in hopes of tackling these issues that our youth face today regarding dating violence and sexual assault.  On Saturday, July 19, 2014, NCRT will be hosting our very first community fundraiser, “Stepping Out Against TDV”, located in Dallas at the South Side on Lamar lofts – Jane Kennedy Gallery, 1409 S Lamar St, Dallas, TX 75215, 6-9pm where art fuses with fashion to provide you with an event full of networking, live entertainment, music, food, and of course, art and fashion!

Leah Albright-Byrd Executive Director & Founder of Bridget's Dream. We discuss her passion to combat and help victims of sexual exploitation. A nationally known survivor-activist, consultant and trainer in the fight against child sex-trafficking. Her strong voice and unwavering commitment to “help victims become survivors and learn to dream again” inspires people to wage war against social injustice.
"The sex-trafficking of children and youth in the United States CAN BE PREVENTED! Together, we must educate, empower, and equip our youth so that they never experience the ravishing effects of sex-trafficking. This is how we prevent!"
"Direct intervention in the lives of those who have been commercially sexually exploited is the first step towards healing & transformation. We reach victims directly and provide crisis care to those looking to escape. This is how we INTERVENE!"
Restoration is a long-term journey that requires discovery of meaning and purpose beyond the ravishing effects of the trauma inflicted through exploitation. Survivors need loving trauma-informed care so that they can experience healing!

His Heart Network Welcomes Jasmine Courtney our latest host for our teen audience. When recently asked Jasmine, "What made her want to be a radio show host? She answered " God is calling to do something and I have to answer that call. He wants me to be a light in my generations life. If teens listen to my show, they will never be the same. God works in mysterious ways that we will never understand." This was her calling from God.

Saturday June 14th is FLAG DAY. AMERICAN MENTORS report on some little known secrets about relationships that can make a difference between economic haves and have nots.  Join us 12 noon eastern, 11 am central, 9 am on the west coast for a FLAG DAY TO REMEMBER on YouthUSA Radio www.YouthUSA.net.
Roughly two-thirds of Black and one-third of Hispanic children live with only one parent.   Moreover, research suggests that a father's absence increases the risk of his Black child dropping out of school by 75 percent.  And even in the 21st Century information age, too many Americans still live in poverty.  If you have read the report to The President of the United States, we’d like to hear your thoughts on My Brother’s Keeper.  We're looking at the symbols, practices and promises that strengthen our communities and secure our nation.  It's Flag Day 2014 on YouthUSA Radio www.YouthUSA.net.

  • @PREACHMUZAK joins Jeff Hodges "It's Bigger Than Hip Hop" series

    in Youth

Join me with my very special guest Preach Muzak, to discuss his latest mixtape “The Rising Trilogy vol. 1”
"Preach has the tone and resonance that can be heard on the radio as well as go viral through the web all the while not steering to far away from the hearts and souls of true music lovers. Through his music you find a man in love with life and appreciative of the trials and tribulations endured by those in our history books, those most likely to follow in his footsteps, and those most likely to look up and say “I want to be just like Preach”. With tracks like “Eighty Six”, “Pray”, and “Heaven to Hell” you are taken in to the true reality of the inner city neighborhood. You are taken in to the drugs, projects, violence, and the struggle to make it out alive. You are given a lesson on life and the battles that have been fought to get us to where we are today as well as the role and influence of politics on the lives to afraid or unwilling to understand it. Most importantly you are sat down and given a lesson on true struggles endured by real individuals on a daily basis.
Many artists talk about the dreams and aspirations of this money hungry population, however few know first-hand what it’s like to be in this predicament yet remain determined to see the light at the end of the tunnel."

    in Youth

In a world where we need more positive role models.  Mr. Larry "LAK" Henderson is a person who not only hears the call but is taking positive and proactive stand.  LAK is an educator who is speaking the true and giving great value to those in the community.  Students dropping out of high school continues to be an alarming trend. Data suggests that 7% of U.S. students left high school without a diploma in 2011. While this is down from 9.9% in 2003, this is nothing to celebrate. The black male dropout rate was 8.3% in 2011, and for Hispanic males it was 14.6% that year.  While there are various reasons why a student ends up dropping out of school, for many, there is a long period of disengagement that ensues beforehand.  Let's encourage our children to be great, and provide them with the tools to be able to compete in this global economy.
I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has had to overcome while trying to succeed. - Booker T. Washington
