FAT TUESDAY!!!! PROTEST MUSIC!!!

This show features Protest music of the 1960's and 1970's. This music is also known as music with "political and social messages". Some of the artists who made this music popular include: Marvin Gaye, Danny Hathaway, Curtis Mayfield, James Brown, and Aretha Franklin. These artists wrote and recorded music that opposed the "machine" and were in favor of the civil rights movement, black power movement, anti-war movement, and the feminist movement.
