On Saturday, September 19 she welcomes April Lufriu to the show to discuss her charity work:
The Foundation Fighting Blindness is a charity organization that focuses on funding cutting edge research to find preventions, treatments and cures for the millions of Americans who are affected by retinal degenerative diseases. The aim of the foundation are very close to Aprils heart, as her sister, Melissa, her two children Brandon and Savannah & April are all affected by the retinal degenerative disease, Retinitis Pigmentosa. This degenerative eye disease gradually leads to full blindness.
In 2007, April and her sister Melissa established the Tampa Chapter for the Foundation Fighting Blindness and began organizing annual events such as The Tampa Bay Vision Walk to raise funds. The Lufriu family’s hard work continues to pay off for their cause as they have risen over $400,000.00 currently.
