The Battle of Midway in June 1942 is acknowledged as America's greatest naval victory, but is realtively unknown by then general public. Truly a battle won by soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines, Midway stands to the best qualities of the U.S, military of that era. Overshadowed by other campaigns like D-Day/Normandy, Iwo Jima, and the Battle of the Bulge, Midway remains as America's "unknown victory" in World War II.

This Monday, Hune 10th, Military Monday hosted by John D. Greshm will explore the Battle of Midway with U.S. Naval Institute (USNI) author Dr. Tom Hone, Ph.D. Dr. Hone is the editor of USNI's new book, THE BATTLE OF MIDWAY. A collection of accounts from the archives of the USNI, this is a perfect book to learn and relearn the nuances of this battle. If you are a veteran of the Battle of Midway, or new to the subject, please listen in, call in if you like, and enjoy the story of America's greatest victory at sea.
