God Gaps

Are there moments when God is gone?  Is God everywhere knowing everything or are we the creators of our own reality?  Usually when there is a discussion on the existence of God the extremes are presented from Atheists to Fundamentalists.  How can one come to their own conclusions about the existence of God?  Call in with your respectful view points about this ongoing discussion of the idea or nature of God or about our evolving understanding.
