"Love is what love does"    1 Corinthians 13:1-13   Love is a word that demands action.

1. If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Paul is letting us know that no matter what you do or who you are if love is not the driving force it profits nothing. Love must be infused in all the spiritual gifts. I believe that everyone loves someone, but can they extend that love toward everyone. If you only love those who do things for you or only those that love you, you have no reward because the unsaved love that way. People pick and choose who they want to love but that’s not the way God meant it to be. Love is one of the primary characteristics of God. Likewise, God has endowed us with the capacity to love, since we are created in His image and one of the fruit of the spirit that the Holy Spirit has indwelled in us is love. The bible in Romans 13:8 says we Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For us to understand the kind of Love that Paul is talking about we must first look at the greatest examples of true Love. God so loved the world that He agave His only begotten Son so that whosoever believed should not perish but have everlasting life, now that’s love.
