One of the most powerful analogies in the Bible regarding our transformation and sanctification in the Lord has to be the analogy of the potter and the clay.  God is illustrating His sovereignty over and in the lives of His people. The Bible says that God is the Potter and we are the clay. It is up to God to mold, transform, and sanctify us as we journey through this earthly life. Whenever God gives us a specific analogy in the Bible, this means that we have to seek into the revelation of that analogy in order to pick up what He is trying to tell us with the analogy. If we do, then we will see exactly what God is trying to tell us in reference to the actual analogy itself. In other words, we have to find exactly how pottery is made if we want to fully understand what God is trying to tell us in this most incredible analogy.  God is the Potter and we are the Clay.
