Jennifer Baszile received her B.A. from Columbia and her Ph.D. in American history from Princeton. The first black female professor to join Yale University's history department, Baszile grew up in an exclusive oceanfront town of Southern California, battling against 70s issues of equality, race, and recognition. Ebony Magazine named Jennifer Baszile one of the "Thirty Leaders of the Future" and her memoir supports this honor. In a schoolyard battle, and in achieving her life's goals, she "remained standing."
