Progressing in God 4 - With Holy Ghost Power

Luk 24:49  And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.. (KJV) 

We continue delving into the part of the Holy Ghost in our growth. Why do we need the Holy Ghost, what is it about the holy ghost, that once we believe on Jesus as the son of God we need this Holy Ghost to be present and active in our lives that we carry out the plan and purpose of God. What part does the Holy Spirit play in our progressing in God?
