In 1973 Bonnie Pointer and her sisters had their break out hit, "Yes We Can" which continues to be sampled to this day. The legendary group donned outfits comparable to those worn in the 1940s and sang in perfect harmony in the way only siblings can do! In 1974, the group won a grammy and by 1977 Bonnie started her solo career. Bonnie Pointer became a household name. In 1985, she scored a great hit on Motown Records with "Heaven Must Have Sent You" which hit #11 on the Billboard charts.

In November of 2014, Ms. Pointer came on this show as a very special guest. We shared laughs and got to know each other a little bit. From that point on, she has been considered a friend to the show. In May, 2020 she visited the show again with her sister Anita and we had a great time once again. As someone said, "it's like catching up with your favorite aunties at the bbq." She was a favorite for many reasons and it is with great sadness that on today's show, we can't speak with her again, but we can listen back, have more laughs, and remember her with a smile in our hearts. She was wonderful and will never be forgotten. Our mutual friend and her manager, Troy Bronstein joins us today as we remember the legendary Bonnie Pointer.
