    In today’s economy people are scrambling to make a dollar wherever possible. Government cutbacks of Federal assistance has decreased the income of many families. This has lead to more filings for child support to offset this loss of supplemental income. With new laws in place to enforce child support, the Child Support Agencies have become more aggressive in tracking down and collecting payments. Many parents commend these improvements that force the non-custodial parent to take care of their responsibilities, and for many this is the only source they have to make this parent comply. However others have a very different story and these policies harm rather than assist the parent that does not retain custody of the child. Many men fall into this category. In this episode of “The Child Support Hustle” we discuss how many fathers handle their responsibilities to assist in rearing their children but the Child Support Agency considers these actions to be gifts if they don’t retain a receipt from the parent with custody. We also deal with how Child Support calculates the entire household income of non-custodial parent when they are married to determine the amount of child support. This has become a new hustle and many parents are taking advantage of a system designed to profit off of the backs of families. Listen as we discuss how these non-custodial parents are being taking advantage of by this system and are often victims to the spiteful parent with custody.
