She says she survived the abuse and neglect that came with being a child in foster care 50 years ago. Today she says, "Nothing's changed." Listen to the compelling story as told by baby boomer author and actress Lauretta Ali on the latest edition of "Whatever Live!" with your host, Beverly Mahone. Ms. Ali’s book is called "Survival of the Fittest." She talks about the breakdown of the foster care system and explains why her own mother should've NEVER been allowed to have a say in her welfare. She says the system has fostered a pattern of abuse and neglect down through the years.
