Fatima Viegas, LIttle Radical Theatrics' Executive Director, was granted the the rights to present RENT in Westchester County. RENT earned the 1996 Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.  The Grinton I. Will Public Library is the venue of a fresh interpretation of Jonathan Larson's RENT, whose book, music and lyrics are presented on stage by Markiss Robert who plays Collins, and Jennifer Silverman who plays Maureen, among others. We explore the musical through the roles the actors perform, question if the the music inspired by Giacomo Puccini's La Bohème, and the pertinence of the contemporary life of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create under the shadow of pennilessness, drug abuse, social tension, and political unrest, among other hardships. How these eight friends negotiate their loves, hopes, struggles, and triumphs, facing their problems head on and making personal self-discoveries to find what really matters most in life, provides the narrative thread to this exhilarating, landmark rock opera.

Hezi engages in a half-hour of international news reviews and analysis from 11:30am to 12:00Noon.
