The “featured” BlogTalkRadio program “Westchester On the Level with Narog and Aris” opens the Friday, September 26, 2014th broadcast day at 10:00 a.m. EDT with José Roman, president of the 35th Annual Yonkers Puerto Rican / Hispanic Day Parade.

 The weekend-long celebration begins on Friday, September 26th with The Fundraiser Dinner Dance; on Saturday, September 27th, the celebration continues with the Flag Raiing Ceremony at Yonkers City Hall; and on Sunday, largest parade in Yonkers begins to take its first steps along the South Broadway ribbon from the corner of Lincoln Park enroute to Getty Square and the corner of South Broadway.

At 11:00 a.m. we pivot our focus in discussion with Nw York State Assemblymember Shelley Mayer immersed in campaign mode. We learn of the issues that impressed her with the greatest of urgency this past year and begin the definition of what is on the horizon with respect to her legislative calendar vis-à-vis Yonkers.

At 11:30 a.m. we move across the border to Mount Vernon to get an update from Mount Vernon City Councilman Richard Thomas  with respect to the aftershock caused by the $6.6 million deficit, and outgrowth of fiscal mismanagement by Mount Vernon Comptroller Maureen Walker and Mayor Ernie Davis; a fiscal calamity that has increased the taxpayer’s burden by 19 percent; approximately $540 additionally per year.
