Oren M. Levin-Waldman, Ph.D., Professor, Graduate School for Public Affairs and Administration at Metropolitan College of New York  is our guest. He suggests “the myth that America is a land of opportunity, and with hard work and perseverance people can make it, still persists.” He continues to postulate that “for more than two centuries this myth has fed the illusion that there is upward socioeconomic mobility for those who were so motivated. It is, after all, up to the individual to make it happen. And yet, the low-wage labor market would seem to suggest otherwise. At issue is whether “individualism is really compatible with a complex economy?”

Prof. Levin-Walden opens the program at 10 a.m., this Wednesday, Oct 9, 2013 for the first hour discussing the "myth". The second hour will be a sweep of the latest local, county, state, national, and international news.
