This week on The Ndustry... Hosts Akia Uwanda and Nicole Lester talk with a remarkable woman and notable actress, Lourdes Colon!

Lourdes has made a notable impression as a versatile actress. This statuesque Emmy nominated beauty starred in the CBS’ hit series Without A Trace, by playing Anna Rodriguez. She was the host on the TV show series "The Movie Time Showcase" on The Omni Broadcasting Network. She also appeared on The District, the TV series The Women of Brewster Place, and films like The Kiss, Blood Oranges, Time Served, A Fine Line, The Killer Within, Expandable, and Amor Brujo. She was a remarkable working actress until she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, which led her through her battle with cancer. Being holistic herself, she wanted to try a unconventional method of fighting cancer that didn’t require radiation or chemotherapy, so she created a her own unique option called “Option C.” She and her husband documented her whole emotional process and called it Create Option c: My Journey Through Cancer. Through donations, she was able to afford an holistic center that helps cancer patients battle this horrendous disease through natural medicine, however her journey was far from easy.

Lourdes felt that the current system for treating cancer was flawed and too harsh on the human body that it does more harm than good. After watching the people she cared most about in her life disintegrate before her eyes, she became an advocate for her option, because she survived cancer by implementing her own process. With the help of Esai Morales, Lourdes is able to spread her news globally through her documentary.
