24 But Thomas called Didymus, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 The other disciples therefore said to him, We have seen the Lord. But he said to them, Unless I see the print of the nails in his hands, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and my hand into his side, I will not believe.
26 And after eight days his disciples were again within, and Thomas with them. Jesus cometh, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. 27 Then said he to Thomas. Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands, and reach hither thy hand, and put it upon my side, and be not faithless, but believing. 28 And Thomas answered and said to him, My Lord, and my God. 29 Jesus saith to him, Thomas, Because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: happy are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. 30 And Jesus wrought many other miracles also, in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book. 31 But these are written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing ye may have life through his name.

Isaiah 53:5  But he was§ wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his¦ stripes we are healed.
