Keeping the Watch stands up in this episode Pt9 of Fighting God the Kingdom War. It is here that we are reminded not only of the battle, but the war withing. That includes our becoming bored, lazy, distracted, and falling away from the Lord. The fight here is against the world, its attractions, the troubles, the peril, and the sin and iniquity. For we are warned because sin and iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. This is not good for believers, however; this is where your enemy wants you. No army or King would attack if his enemy were stronger, more well equipped, and on guard. No, wait till they do not expect it then attack. So too, we must be on guard.

Keeping the Watch can be a lonely duty. In the service there are watches around the clock. Being on guard, on the alert; all while others sleep and get rest. Today we understand the Lords warning that we must be alert, on guard, and be prepared to stand against the enemy.  The Lord is coming and among all our discipleship duties, the main one is not forsaking our Love for the Lord. This translates into watching for Him, wanting to be with our Lord God and Father and our Lord Jesus Christ in His Kingdom. The world watches and longs for many things; we need to long for only one; our redeemer and Lord. Yet Keeping the Watch is something that people get weary over. It can be boring, nothing happening. For the Lord delays his coming, to the second or third watches. So be ready for in such an hour your Lord comes.
