Fernandez has served from 1989 -2007 in The US Navy and US Army. He retired from US Navy 2007 from Injuries during OIF deployment. He was a US Navy Military Police officer and his career was serving overseas on a NATO base in Crete Greece as a Training Petty Officer for all Law enforcement Units and Liaison to NATO Marithi Pier and conducted training with the Hellenic Military Police in tactics,movements and engagement. Angel did protective service detail for high Ranking Armed Services Congressmen and Fleet admirals while onboard NATO Command Crete, Greece officials. During his naval Career he was an Investigator to Temporary Holding Unit where he conducted numerous criminal Investigations and Trained the personnel on the security team when the base was set in a high threat posture. He also was in charge of Brig escorts and worked closely with NCIS during a criminal investigations. Using forensic evidence during an investigation he was able to link a crime to a suspects for which he was awarded a Navy Achievement medal. He was hand Selected by the US Navy to establish the training program for the newly formed Mobile Security Forces where he wrote 150 training Manuals and real life scenario for 120 personnel of the detachment. He was part of this MSF unit in doing security missions to level one assets around the world in support on war on terrorism. While stationed at Sub Base Groton he was responsible for training over 2000 personnel in all Phase I and II training of Law enforcement and over 200 Auxiliary Security Force personnel and running LEO Academies.
