Bill McDonald winning poet, inter-faith chaplain and minister, former internet-radio show host, documentary film producer, and international motivational speaker. He is also a tireless advocate for veterans. Bill was a crew-chief/door-gunner in the Vietnam War, flying combat missions with the famed 128th Assault Helicopter Company (“The Tomahawks”) from October 1966 through October 1967. He was awarded a number of medals, including The Distinguished Flying Cross, The Bronze Star, The Purple Heart, and multiple air medals. Bill produced or participated in several documentary films on the Vietnam War. He returned to Vietnam in 2002 with a small group known as “The Peace Patrol,” and received a warm welcome from his former enemies. Rev. Bill is a graduate of the University of San Francisco. Many of his poems and stories are published in national magazines, and he is featured in several books by other authors including Larkin Spivey, Stories of Faith and Courage from the Vietnam War (2011); Charles W. Sasser, God in the Foxhole (2012); and Nancy Clark, Divine Moments: Ordinary People Having Spiritually Transformative Experiences (2012). His autobiography, A Spiritual Warrior’s Journey (2003), describes both his Vietnam experiences and the spiritual experiences and supernatural events that have continually been present in his life. An updated version of his autobiography, published in 2015, is entitled Warrior: A Spiritual Odyssey.
