At age 20 I joined the Army and a little over a year later was September 11. Deployed under 3 different campaigns: Operation Noble Eagle, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom from 2003-2009. In 2012 I was separated from the Army with 2 separated vertebrae and a tore disc in my bag. Struggled with alcohol and suicidal thoughts throughout my career. Came across 22Kill in 2014 and became familiar with the statistic of 22 Veterans who commit suicide every day. 22Kill had started doing 22 push-ups to honor the 22 Veterans every day. I then launched the 22 push-up challenge in hopes of having it be larger than the ice bucket challenge. March of this year I launched the Faces of the 22 challenge where we paid tribute to a person who fell victim to PTS and suicide. We changed our profile pictures to honor them for the day then challenged celebrities to do the 22 push-up challenge in that person's honor. After achieving the success of being as big as the ice bucket challenge, I launched Hometown Battles .
