U.S. Glossed Over TSA scanner Cancer Concerns

The United States  marches millions of airline passengers through the X-ray body scanners, parting ways with countries in Europe and elsewhere that have concluded that such widespread use of even low-level radiation poses an unacceptable health risk. The X-ray scanners despite having a safer alternative even admitted by that the Transportation Security Administration are also highly effective.

The loophole. As these machines are not used for "medical use" The FDA has no interest in them and therefore are subject to the rigorous testing required.
