He has been dealing with the paranormal since childhood. "Doc" grew up in a very old house in Pa that was very active with paranormal events. He moved in when he was eight and he saw his first spirit shortly thereafter. As an adult, Doc John was stationed on the USS Tarawa LHA-1 He was assigned temporary duty in Rhode Island at a small Naval Base. He started having more encounters with spirits during this time.
