Issues of Our Day discusses an eclectic mix of topics: from politics to religion, my shows are a mix of my reflections, my opinions, your reflections and your opinions. Though I have credentials, I've come to a point in my life where I'm not particularly impressed by them. The reason for is, I've found , people who insist that we know they have credentials frequently invoke them them to give credence and credulity to personal opinions regarding issues that are outside their credentialed field of study. I've found that most of us are walking cliches, walking rhetoric machines, repeating and spouting that which we've heard as if we were the author of that rhetoric (me included). It's not unusual these day to be inundated with tons of wonderful quotes on Facebook and see them voted on with "the like" button. I, for one am more interested in somebody sharing what they got out of a quote than merely sharing something brilliant they found, that somebody else has said.
