Eric Rankin grew up in the yachting industry in Southern California. Drawing from his experience as a licensed boat captain, stunt-boat operator for television and film, SCUBA diver and freelance writer, Eric creates a lush and scenic backdrop for his first novel"The Aquarians." Eric has also traveled the world swimming with dolphins and exploring Mayan ruins. These experiences led him on a path that directed his attention to the end of the Mayan calendar in the year 2012 - a moment in time that seems to be serving as a spiritual wake-up call to all humanity.

For Eric, writing a novel that would not be too “airy-fairy” for mainstream readers or too conventional for a new-age audience proved to be a challenging task. In telling a story about humanity moving into what Mayan shamans refer to as a “next level” of consciousness, his greatest hope was that he would be able to intrigue readers just enough to want to explore this subject on their own.
