Urban Teen Magazine Celebrity Interview with Jekalyn Carr!

Jekalyn Carr was born in Memphis, Tennessee on April 22, 1997.  Carr, an independent artist, musical career got serious in 2013 at the age of 15, when her first song and album, “Greater Is Coming,” were released nationally under Lunjeal Music Group. The album found immediate success, breaking into the Billboard 200 at #183, #3 on the Gospel Charts, and #81 on the Independent album chart. At the age of 16, Jekalyn won the her first award for “Greater is Coming” at the 2014 Stellar Awards. Jekalyn is not only a compelling singer, but she is equally dynamic as a public speaker, fashion designer and evangelist.

At only nineteen years old Gospel superstar, Jekalyn Carr received her first Grammy nomination for Best Gospel Performance/Song for “You’re Bigger.” The 59th Grammy Awards were on February 12th, 2017 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.  Jekalyn shined on the red carpet for the first time wearing a dress she designed, her adoring. Jekalyn Carr’s first live album, “The Life Project”, was released on August 5th, 2016 and reached #1 on the Top Gospel Album charts.
