Our next guest is Dr. Carol Mullen, who is a Professor of Educational Leadership at Virginia Tech. She is also an international specialist in mentoring theory and practice in education across university and school settings. Carol was recently President of the National Council of Professors of Educational Administration (or NCPEA).

Previously, she served as director of the School of Education at Virginia Tech and, before that, as chair of the Educational Leadership and Cultural Studies Department at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. This summer, Carol studied at Southwest University in Chongqing, China, as a Fulbright Scholar. During her stint, she conducted research, taught two courses, and gave numerous talks and workshops.

Following her Fulbright, she traveled to Shanghai, taking the bullet train and giving keynote addresses to large audiences across China, which was funded by her university’s Global Issues Scholar Program. Carol Mullen is lead author of The Leadership Identity Journey: An Artful Reflection, with Fenwick English and William Kealy, published last year by Rowman and Littlefield Publishers.
