I'd be surprised if Smith wasn't starting in Week 1. Tatum Bell has proven over and over again that he isn't a successful starting RB in the NFL, while Smith has the talent necessary to beat Bell out. Smith has also been complimented on his blocking skills, something that Bell does not do well, lending further evidence we'll likely see Smith starting for Detroit at RB this year.

Is Tatum Bell going to be the RB 1 in Det? I read that its possible that Kevin Smith will be the RB1. Your thoughts
