Life Design: Men's Series Bonus Show with Derrick LaFrenier

I'm the guy who has been through it all: alcohol and drug addiction, homelessness, business success, business failure, jail and a near-drowning experience. Today, after realizing that I have a wealth of personal strength within me and can choose my way of life, I am experiencing life like never before. I have recovered from my addiction to alcohol and drugs and the many negative effects of that to my health and well-being. Plus, I?m pursuing my dream of guiding others to find their strength to overcome similar destructive obstacles and blocks through Asterion Transformational Coaching.

 

In 2008, I went into detox for the last time. Over the course of 15 years, drinking and drugs had taken their toll. I was physically weak and mentally drained. But something inside me was screaming, "Someone?s alive in here. Let him out!"

During my recovery process, I came to the realization that I had been my own worst enemy. I had made a choice to party, and my lifestyle had dire consequences. I lost my business, my home and very nearly, my life.

 

Like Asterion, the Minotaur, I was trapped in the dark corners of the labyrinth. For me, the maze existed in my mind. The only way to get free of substance abuse was to take the scattered thoughts in my brain and collect the pieces into a cohesive whole. Through NLP, self-motivation and coaching, I bypassed my mental blocks and tapped into my internal strength. This set my life straight.
