Phrase like,” Don't talk the talk if you can't walk the walk; don’t let your mouth write a check that your butt can't cash; Or (from the Beretta theme), don't do the crime if you can't do the time,” are all sayings that epitomizes the notion that talk is cheap, actions speak louder than words and practice what you preach. The context for the use of any of these expressions is in response to what is seen as empty boasting. So we ask, why don’t we mean what we say and why do we bite off more than we can chew?
