     Sheila Lee, also known as MzMistress, was born in Chula Vista, CA. She was brought up in a mixed culture home by her mother who was born in the Philippine Islands, and her father who is of Mexican and Irish decent. She came from a military background and relocated to other major cities such as Long Beach, Chicago, Denver, New York, Portland, Seattle, Nashville, and St Louis. Her love for rap music begin at the age of 6 in Long Beach, where she first learned to break dance. At the age of 12 she began writing song lyrics with her brother Victor. At the age of 14 MzMistress was asked by a music group out of Virginia, to ghost write songs for them. MzMistress found her new talent as an outlet for her troubled life inside and outside of her home. After continuous run ins with the law and problems with her abusive family, she was forced to live on the streets at the age of 16. With no home or family to help, she was unable to continue with her dream of audio arts.
