This week we are happy to have Beth Chee, with Helen Woodward Animal Center on the line talking about this years Iams Home 4 the Holidays program. This great, now annual program has brought together almost 4,000 organizations around the world to find millions of animals their forever homes.  IH4TH creator Mike Arms, President of Helen Woodward Animal Center, says, "IH4TH began in 1999 with 14 animal shelters in San Diego, California. Since then IH4TH has become the largest pet adoption drive in history, finding families for more than 5.7 million orphan pets.

This weeks blogs...Oh the Holidays are sneaking up on us... What happens to our families or "pack" when someone dies?  Death in the Pack opens the conversation to what happens and how healing may begin. Ever wondered why some people are not comfortable around dogs? Check out Kids and Dogs: Creating Phobias for a peek into a few daily interactions noticed. Oh and Black Friday, Thursday, Cyber Monday are all upon us... Petside has created a list of Pet Gifts that Give Back. And how could we not acknoweledge Hercules the Saint Bernard who went From Rescued Pup to Hero in 6 Hours. So enjoy the pumpkin pie and here's hoping your pack is close!

--------------- About Behind the Curtain: In the "Wizard of OZ" there was a man behind the curtain who showed people that they already had everything they needed and desired... We've created a BlogTalkRadio program where our guests include those hero's and champions who dedicate themselves to make a difference with people and our animal companions. Most of these organizations are well known and make amazing differences in their communities, but the people behind the curtain, those that spend countless hours, often don't seek the spotlight and we want to share their stories and passion with you.
