Transformative Health recently had the opportunity to sit down with David Muntz, senior vice president and chief information officer of GetWellNetwork.

In Part I of our podcast, David discusses key areas health care providers should focus on with regards to meeting  Stage 2 Meaningful Use patient engagement mandates, as well as how to develop better  patient portals. David also highlights interoperability challenges and the difference between ROI and VOI.   

About David Muntz:

As SVP and CIO of GetWellNetwork, David advises health care organizations on defining and implementing a flexible patient engagement strategy that uses information technology to achieve optimal outcomes.

Prior to joining GetWellNetwork, David was appointed by the White House as the first Principal Deputy Director of the ONC, where he created the Office of Consumer e-Health and the Office of the Chief Medical Officer. David previously served as CIO at Baylor Health Care System and Texas Health Resources.

David holds an MBA from Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University and an A.B. in Premedicine from Columbia University.
