Kristen Lucas is a former teacher and children's book author who found an outlet for my grief after suffering a miscarriage, quitting my job and having subsequent fertility issues.

I threw myself into writing my book and that process helped to give reprieve from my fertility issues. A friend and I have put together a series of fundraisers by bringing women together called "Mamas Giving Back." For the cost of admission to the event the women who come hear me tell my story, receive a copy of my children's book, a goodie bag, and the rest of the money goes to a fertility research charity.
