A native Houstonian, Mims is very active in the community. He is an ambassador member of the Greater Houston Partnership, Board Member of Central Care Community Health Centers, Chairperson for the Diversity Committee of the American Lung Association, and a member of the Greater Women Chamber of Commerce.
